SAMPLE DEVOTION

GRACE, GOD'S UNMERITED FAVOR
“Grace be
to you and peace from God the Father, and from
our Lord Jesus
Christ” Galatians 1:3 (KJV).
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the
world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither
let it be afraid” John 14:7 (KJV).
In writing to the Galatians, Paul blessed them by
sharing the greatest gifts he had: the grace and peace of
God. Grace—the unmerited favor of God toward us—is
at the heart of our salvation. When Adam and Eve sinned,
mankind was separated from God and made us utterly
unworthy to know Him, yet because of His love, He sent
Jesus to pay for our sins, opening the door of our salvation.
When we understand God’s saving grace in our lives,
we have peace. Our sins are forgiven by our faith in Jesus
Christ, God in human flesh. Through Christ we come to
understand that God Almighty loved us to the death, that
His grace overcomes all our unworthiness. Knowing this,
how can we fail to be at peace?
Ponder, Pray, and Pursue
1. Take a few minutes out of your day to be quiet, to
sit and let grace sink in. Thank God for His finished work
for you.
